Watch what happens when I click on a dangerous link during a Google search!
“There is nothing new under the sun” – Solomon
Computer scams, virus infection, and ransomware attacks are nothing new; they have been going on since the beginning of time. Ok, maybe not the beginning, but it sure can seem like it!
I made this video a few years back, but sadly to say it is still as relevant now as it was then. Beware of attempts to get you to click on, download, or otherwise unknowingly invite trouble onto your computer. Many people are aware of the virus and malware risks involved with clicking on links that come to them by email. This happens to smart people all the time! You have to know what the common scams are, and always be cautious.

This is not a real warning
This example is of how an innocent Google search for a product took me to a website where I would be scammed. The plan was to have me fooled into thinking a virus attack had already happened. Clicking on anything there would take me into a situation where my computer would be infected.
If you come across anything strange or suspicious, whether browsing online or reading your emails, let me know! You can contact me to help you determine how to respond to the situation. Sometimes, like in this example, doing nothing and leaving the page is the right course of action.
